The Alma Hybrid CO2 Resurfacing Laser

Live Better MD is delighted to offer skin resurfacing treatments using the Alma Hybrid CO2 laser, one of the latest devices in advanced laser treatment technology for skin resurfacing. It’s a powerful and proven rejuvenation technique to renew the skin altogether.

What is the Alma Hybrid ?

Alma Hybrid utilizes a unique method for treating aesthetic skin concerns by

combining three energies. This new technology customizes each treatment,

making it the ultimate skin resurfacing therapy. Alma Hybrid combines an

ablative CO2 laser, a non-ablative 1570nm laser, and ultrasound technology. The Alma Hybrid laser utilizes revolutionary technology that combines both CO2 (ablative) and 1570 nm (non-ablative) fractionated lasers to allow for an

optimal blend of ablative, coagulative, and thermal effects on the skin in a

customized and highly precise treatment. This means that when the laser is

fired, there are microscopic columns of untreated tissue throughout the

treatment area instead of causing damage to the entire skin surface.

Fractional lasers were developed to shorten recovery time and reduce the risk of side effects, such as scarring, hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation.

CO2 lasers have been available for years to treat wrinkles, photodamaged

skin, scars, warts, linear epidermal nevi (birthmark), and rhinophyma (enlarged oil glands on the nose). The next generation CO2 lasers use very short-pulsed light energy (ultra pulsed) or continuous light beams delivered in a scanning pattern. Laser resurfacing can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increase skin tone, and improve complexion, however, it cannot eliminate excessive or sagging skin. The Hy Grid technology within the Alma Hybrid laser allows our providers to customize your treatment based on your skin type, aesthetic goals, and expected downtime you will experience to

achieve your desired results.

●     CO2 - The optimal blend of ablative, coagulative, and thermal effect for efficient and precise resurfacing of the skin.

●     1570nm- A powerful non-ablative laser that creates the ultimate deep thermal effect, promoting collagen synthesis and improving pigment without damaging the skin’s outer layer.

This powerful treatment effectively targets skin irregularities, improving texture, tone, and overall appearance. It's ideal for addressing:

●     Fine lines and wrinkles

●     Acne scars

●     Sun damage

●     Brown spots

●     Uneven skin tone and texture

●     Enlarged pores

●     Skin laxity

FAQs

How many sessions are needed for optimal results?

Most patients benefit from a series of 1-3 sessions, depending on their specific goals and skin condition.

Is the Alma Hybrid painful?

Despite being very powerful and effective, treatment with the Alma Hybrid laser causes minimal discomfort compared to the traditional CO2 laser. We start by applying a strong numbing cream. The combination of the laser's cooling plate and the additional cooling machine we utilize for comfort generally causes a mild prickling sensation.

What is the recovery period like?

You may experience redness and swelling for a few days post-treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. Full recovery usually occurs within a week. The downtime is significantly less than traditional CO2 lasers, providing an added benefit to this new technology.

When will I see the results?

Initial results can be seen within a few days, with continued improvement as collagen production increases over the following weeks to months.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are generally minimal but may include temporary redness, swelling, and dryness in the treated areas.

Who is a good candidate for the Alma Hybrid CO2 Laser?

Most patients seeking to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity are good candidates, but a consultation will help determine if it’s right for you.
